100 Years of San Diego County Republican Women
On this 100th Anniversary month let us remind ourselves of the accomplishments of the Republican Party and the women who through their dedication and “the thousands of volunteer hours, the millions of mailers, the thousands of miles of precinct walking, the millions of dollars – the dedication of our thousands of members in our dozens of clubs to support our initial objective: to promote a wider knowledge of the principles and policies of the Republican Party.” *
**Ours is the party that…
• Was founded to oppose the expansion of slavery—and women were attracted to our party before the Civil War • Supported the women’s suffrage movement, finally granting women the right to vote in 1920 • First elected woman to Congress! (Jeannette Rankin, Montana, June 11, 1916) • Confirmed the first female Supreme Court Justice! (Sandra Day O'Connor, 1981) • Elected the first Black Congressman (Joseph H. Rainey, South Carolina, 1870) • Elected the first Black U.S. Senator (Hiram Rhodes Revels, Mississippi, 1870)
• Elected the first Hispanic Congressman (Romualdo Pacheco, California, 1877) • Elected the first Hispanic Governor (Romualdo Pacheco, California, 1875)
Let us continue the tradition through participation in Republican candidate campaigns. We elect Republicans through our hard work and devotion to our principles - the winning way.

Stand up and get involved with the special election for District 1.. We can use the wind from Trump's election to help in pulling a Republican candidate, John Mcann over the finish line.
We can move our liberal friends toward our candidates. The other party has gone off in an obscure direction and left their members behind.
Let's use this and start some conversations to bring our neighbors into our tent.
Topics to consider; mileage tax coming back, out of control development of ADUs, nothing done on the TJ sewage crisis, and increase in homelessness
We need common sense at the Board of Supervisors, help John McCann! Walk, Write, Call!

Legislative Focus & Call to Action
This year, we will focus on the following key issues: • Support for the Trump Agenda • State and local legislation on emergency response, fire safety, property insurance, overdevelopment, crime, and child protection.
Many bills are being introduced, and we will monitor them closely. There will be opportunities to write, call, email, and attend local meetings to make our voices heard.
Recent Calls to Action – Updates • Trump’s Cabinet Confirmed: We contacted key senators regarding nominees Pam Bondi, Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, Russell Vought, Robert Kennedy Jr., and Tulsi Gabbard. All were sworn in—great job! • San Diego County Declares Super Sanctuary Status: In response to Trump’s Executive Order banning sanctuary jurisdictions, San Diego County voted to become a Super Sanctuary County, prioritizing protections for illegal immigrants, including violent offenders, over American citizens. • El Cajon Rejects Sanctuary Status: After multiple attempts, the El Cajon City Council passed a resolution declaring the city not a sanctuary city. Local law enforcement will fully cooperate with federal immigration authorities to remove violent offenders, ensuring officers can do their jobs without political interference. • San Diego County Supervisors Oppose H.R. 28: The Board of Supervisors voted against endorsing H.R. 28, which would have protected the fairness and integrity of women’s and girls’ sports. The State of California had already opposed the measure.
